Autor podává přehled nejčastějších zánětů cest dýchacích, jejich epidemiologii, klinický obraz, základní diagnostické postupy, způsoby léčby, komplikace a prevenci. Jsou zdůrazněny podstatné znaky jednotlivých klinických jednotek a naznačena léčebná strategie.
