Roztroušená skleróza a mateřství

Roztroušená skleróza (RS) mozkomíšní je chronické onemocnění centrálního nervového systému postihující především mladé pacienty, častěji ženy v reprodukčním věku, které zvažují těhotenství. Data z kontrolovaných studií ukazují stabilizaci nemoci během gravidity, zvýšené riziko atak je během prvních 6 měsíců po porodu. V tomto období je vhodné zajištění preventivní medikací (optimálně intravenozními imunoglobuliny, které umoňují kojení). Vlastní porod může být veden fyziologickou cestou, není námitek proti epidurální anestezii. Většina medikamentů užívaných pro léčbu RS by měla být vysazena před plánovaným početím a nebo nejpozději v době zjištěné gravidity. Nejsou důkazy o tom, že by těhotenství z dlouhodobého hlediska negativně ovlivnovalo průběh RS.
