Infekční mononukleóza

Infekční mononukleóza je běžně rozšířené onemocnění způsobené ubikvitárně se vyskytujícím IV. herpetickým virem – virem Epstein-Barrové. Postihuje především děti a mladistvé. EBV vyvolává široké spektrum onemocnění. Většinou se manifestuje typickou triádou: bolestmi v krku, teplotou a lymfadenopatií. Ve většině případů bývá i lehké postižení jater. Prognóza onemocnění je dobrá, ale u části pacientů se mohou objevit komplikace.
