Cardiovascular diseases are the most common diagnosis in the elderly and are the main cause of mortality of men and women older than
65 years. A rate of older population in the society is increasing. At the level of cardiovascular and other organ systems functional and
anatomical changes occur. Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the drugs are also changing. The aim of this report is to give
a short review about common problems of cardiovascular diseases in the elderly, their patophysiology, diagnostics and treatment.
