Lyme borreliosis (LB) is a disease which, with its polymorphic manifestations, touches many medical specialties. While some clinical
pictures are completely typical and practically unmistakable, others force differential diagnoses that must consider a whole range of
diseases. Even though diagnostic tools available are considerable, there is still no one single clear test at hand to clearly differentiate the
active manifestations of the disease from mere “laboratory echoes” and thus allow a clear indication for the course of treatment. The
following text may be of help in determining diagnosis and initiating treatment.
