Hip-joint arthroscopy has recently become established in the diagnostics and treatment of hip disorders. Not all pain experienced
in the area of the hips originates in the hip joint, arthroscopy of the hip joint is only indicated for pain after appropriate clarification.
Hip arthroscopy helps clarify intraarticular causes of problems. Proper patient selection is key to a successful outcome. The aim of this
article is to provide actual information on current indications and surgical options of hip arthroscopy. However, arthroscopic operations
of the hip are technically demanding as they require enough experience and good technical equipment.
