Diagnosis and treatment of heart failure by GP

Chronic heart failure represents a big medical and socioeconomic burden, because of still growing number of patients with this disease.
This fact is also due to a recent development in cardiology, especially in the care of acute cardiac patients. Development of the whole
care system for HF patients is very important, the patients should be well educated, on optimal therapy according to the most recent
guidelines. Especially the need for establishing specialized clinics for HF that provide adequate diagnostics, treatment and education
of patients in a co-operation with their primary care providers is very important. This fact could contribute to a better prognosis of this
very unfavorable disease.
