For many years, ergotamine has been used for the acute treatment of migraine. In most patients, ergotamine is well tolerated,but also has potential for many side effects. It has been reported, that ergot alkaloids can provoke coronary artery spasm, whichis often associated with ischemic electrocardiography changes and angina pectoris.In the present report, we describe a case involving woman with unclear diagnosed migraine who experienced acute coronarysyndrome most probably because of therapy with ergotamine.To add the knowledge to submitted report, an information about phenomenon of egrotamine overuse headache and aboutcauses of coronary vasospasm are included.
