Umělá inteligence – příležitost, nebo hrozba?

Vážené kolegyně, vážení kolegové,

před třinácti lety jsem ve výzkumné laboratoři v Calgary zakresloval oblasti mozku na CT snímcích pro účely, které mi tehdy nebyly zcela jasné. Teprve později jsem si uvědomil, že jsem pomáhal trénovat jeden z prvních systémů umělé inteligence pro diagnostiku cévních mozkových příhod. Dnes tento nástroj používají nemocnice po celém světě. Tato zkušenost mi ukázala, jak rychle se technologie vyvíjejí – co dříve trvalo roky, dnes zvládneme za měsíce.

Často slýchám otázku, zda je umělá inteligence v medicíně příležitostí, či hrozbou. Věřím však, že tato otázka již není aktuální. AI je součástí současné medicíny – stejně jako byly kdysi rentgenové přístroje nebo ultrazvuk něčím novým, dnes jsou standardem. Správně bychom se měli ptát: Jak AI využívat ve prospěch našich pacientů?
