Post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) is the most serious chronic complication of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). It is manifested by pain, swelling, skin changes, and ulcerations in the affected limb. The pathophysiology involves post-thrombotic venous stenoses and valve destruction, resulting in ambulatory venous hypertension. Recurrence of DVT increases the relative risk of PTS by about eight-fold, and there is also an inverse relationship when the patients with PTS have a higher risk of DVT recurrence. Antibiotic therapy of bacterial infections is based on in vitro activity, clinical efficacy and safety and epidemiological safety. Cerebrospinal multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease of the central nervous system (CNS) leading to demyelination of nerve fibres and their subsequent loss. It is an autoimmune disease in which the target antigens are those of the nerve fibre myelin sheath in the CNS. It mainly affects young people aged 20 to 40 years. In this review the list of combined medicinal products containing analgesics and antipyretics is presented as well as the information about the content of each medicinal product. Drug risks include not only adverse drug reactions and drug-drug interactions, but also the drug duplications, when patient takes two or more different medicinal product with the content of the same substance, which can lead to overdose. Prescribing physicians have to ask patients which other drug they use including OTC products to prevent adverse drug reactions.

Idiopatic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a serious treatable disease of variable course and lethal prognosis. Presented case report reviews case of the patient, who was treated for many years by inhaled corticosteroids despite known fibrotic interstitial lung involvement detected by computed tomography. This case happened in the era of antifibrotic treatment, which could have been used for Czech IPF patients since 2011. The achievement of target value of blood pressure in patients with arterial hypertension is crucial for reducing cardiovascular mortality.
