Nová doporučení (guidelines) pro léčbu diabetes mellitus 2. typu

V roce 2006 byla publikována dvoje nová doporučení („guidelines“) pro léčbu a vedení DM 2. typu (podle IDF i ADA a EASD). Nefarmakologická opatření (životní styl) je stále nenahraditelnou a trvalou součástí léčby. Mezi perorálními antidiabetiky je lékem první volby metformin u všech diabetiků 2. typu (s výjimkou kontraindikací). Sulfonylurea a glinidy jsou léky druhé volby a glitazony jsou doporučovány do kombinované léčby. Inzulin je možnou a vhodnou léčbou s nutností adekvátní edukace a principem časného zahájení.
