Kocovina po intoxikaci alkoholem

Vzhledem k vysoké spotřebě alkoholu je alkoholová kocovina častým problémem. Shrnujeme zde rizika kocoviny, její příznaky a mechanizmus, jakým k nim dochází. Při léčbě kocoviny je třeba doplnit šetrným způsobem tekutiny, minerály a glycidy. Vhodné mohou být i vitaminy skupiny B. Naopak je třeba se vyhnout dalšímu alkoholu, benzodiazepinům, černé kávě a nesteroidním antirevmatikům (ta zvyšují riziko krvácení do trávicí trubice a toxicitu alkoholu pro játra). Kocovina může zastírat příznaky úrazu hlavy nebo jiné zdravotní komplikace či naopak napodobovat průběh jiné nemoci. Naltrexon může patrně poněkud zmírnit účinky alkoholu a pomoci závislým na alkoholu zastavit recidivu. Kocovinu po alkoholu je možné využít ke krátké intervenci zaměřené na prevenci škod působených alkoholem.
