Opportunistic pathogen Sarcina ventriculi

Bacteria of the genus Sarcina are morphologically very interesting microorganisms. They occur naturally in soil, mud and cereal

corns. Their finding is also connected with different pathologies of gastrointestinal tract, especially with syndromes characterized

by retarded evacuation of stomach and food passage to lower parts of the intestine. They can be found in the stool samples of

humans, who do not suffer any acute or chronic diseases. The pathogenicity of the organism is not entirely confirmed, and it is

an interesting subject for future research.
