Poznatky starých Egypťanov o pôrode

Autorka približuje úroveň zdravotnej starostlivosti o rodičku v starom Egypte. Ako uvádza, poznatky z tejto oblasti medicíny boli v starom Egypte oproti iným medicínskym odborom na najnižšej úrovni. Rodiacej žene pomáhali štyri pomocnice, z ktorých každá mala svoje poslanie – úlohu pri pôrode. Povolanie pôrodných asistentiek bolo v starom Egypte považované za nečisté a zrejme z toho dôvodu bolo i nízko ohodnotené. Ďalej autorka popisuje tri druhy pôrodov ktoré sú zachytené v lekárskych listoch. Osobitnú pozornosť venuje komplikovaným pôrodom egyptských bohov. Príspevok je sondou do histórie medicíny, vývoja poznatkov a skúseností z pôrodníctva, ako rodili staroegyptské ženy.
