Renata Malinová

Med. praxi. 2017;14(3):46-49

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease with a very individual course that can have a limiting effect on the capacity of full workload and, later on, on the self-sufficiency of the patient, while having essential socioeconomic impact. The treatment of MS has changed dramatically over the last 20 years. Physiotherapy and psychotherapy have become an integral part of treatment. The treatment thus requires a comprehensive approach and a multidisciplinary team. The patient’s mental status has an effect on the disease course. A chronic, incurable disease with no unequivocally predictable course interferes in an essential manner with the person’s...

Patients‘ education ensured by theirs dermatologists and by public health campaigns is crucial in effective primary prevention of skin cancer.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have a common analgesic, antipyretic and at higher doses in particular antiphlogistic effect that differs this pharmacological group from other non-opioid analgesics. The term non-steroidal define these substances in 1960 against the steroids administred in rheumatology. These are some of the most commonly used drugs. This insight tries to chart the position of NSAIDs among...

Fixed dose combination of two antihypertensive drugs and statin in hypertensive patients in clinical practice

doc. MUDr. Jitka Mlíková Seidlerová, Ph.D.

Med. praxi. 2017;14(3)

Fixed dose combinations improves adherence to treatment. The two case histories mentioned in a present paper shows that this fixed dose combination might be used in treatment naïve patients as well as method how to increase efficiency or how to simplify existing therapy.
